Intermix Hires Saks Veteran

Denise Magid, former Saks Fifth Avenue (New York) svp and general merchandise manager of women’s ready-to-wear, private brands and kids, has been named chief merchant of Intermix (New York), where she will oversee the buying team for the 35-unit chain. Intermix’s former chief merchant, Gia Ghezzi, has been promoted to the role of fashion director, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

In her 12-year tenure at Saks, Magid’s positions have included that of buyer and divisional merchandise manager. Magid’s departure comes a month after that of Jennifer de Winter, Saks’ former chief merchant, who left in January to join Tiffany & Co. as svp, Northern America.
