VMSD’s 12th annual International Retail Design Conference starts today in Chicago with opening keynote speaker Bob Phibbs, author of “The Retail Doctor’s Guide to Growing Your Business.” The prolific speaker and author will share inspiration and solutions for creative minds to stay focused and motivated in today’s high-stress environment. The day’s breakout sessions also include presentations on Starbucks Coffee Co., the Retail Design Institute’s student competition, visual merchandising, grocery trends and health and beauty retailing. VMSD will also present its annual Peter Glen Retailer of the Year award to Macy’s Inc., followed by a presentation of the brand’s story by Amy Hanson, executive vp, property development, and credit and customer service, Macy’s Inc.
Held at the Chicago Renaissance Downtown, the three-day educational and networking conference brings together hundreds of retailer executives, designers, visual merchandisers and students to learn and discuss a range of topics.
