ISP Bestows Honors in New York

The Institute of Store Planners has inducted five people into its Legion of Honor during the ISP/VM+SD Store Design Awards Ceremony in New York.

The 2003 honorees are: Jay Fitzpatrick, Fitzpatrick Intl. Group (New York); Michael Boccadaro, formerly vp, store planning & design, Filenes (Boston); William Snaith (deceased), formerly president, Raymond Loewy/Snaith design firm; Alton Doody, founder, Management Horizons, Retail Planning Associates (Columbus, Ohio); and John Roberts, founder, John Roberts & Associates (San Francisco).

The Retail Design Legion of Honor recognizes those giants of the industry whose lifetime contribution of professional design achievement has influenced and shaped retailing, store design and the design culture in general.

An ISP Trade Member of the Year award was also presented to John Sapanaro, president, Lighting Management Inc. (New City, N.Y.), for most significantly contributing to the Institute during the past year.

Presided over by Russ Sway, president of ISP, and Steve Kaufman, editor of VM+SD, the ceremony was held at the Puck Building in New York.
