Issey Miyake Opens A-POC

Issey Miyake, designer of a new fashion concept called A-POC (which stands for “a piece of cloth”), opened a 600-square-foot A-POC store recently, at 47 Rue des Francs Bourgeois, in Paris.

The Paris A-POC shop is the second of its kind to open, since it was introduced to Tokyo last February. The flagship offers a line of clothing, which comes in a single, knitted tube that shoppers must cut out themselves. The unusual merchandise is matched by the store's unusual design, which features floor-to-ceiling windows, metal tubing and white surfaces.

Miyake plans to open a third A-POC store in London next year. He also has his eye on New York's TriBeCa, as well.
