It’s Christmas: Time for Another Italian Fashion Shoe Store in New York

Geox, the Italian fashion footwear brand, will open a flagship store at Madison Avenue and 57th Street in New York. The two-story, 6000-square-foot retail location will carry a complete assortment of Geox footwear, “the shoe that breathes,” for men, women and children.

“New York City is known for its high-end, innovative fashion and shopping, and we are pleased to join the ranks as one of the featured retail shoe destinations in Manhattan,” said founder and chairman Mario Moretti Polegato. “We look forward to expanding Geox’s presence in the U.S.”

The new flagship store, designed by the Italian architect Luca Guoli of Studio TX Architetti Associati (Vicenza, Italy) will be the largest store in the Geox chain. The “space shuttle” inspired, futuristic interior, will display footwear on pedestals, giving customers a 360-degree view of the product. Plasma-screen televisions will play a Geox DVD, informing customers about the philosophy and technology behind the Geox brand.

Geox has 350 stores in 68 countries around the world. It is currently opening another New York location, on Lexington Avenue and 59th Street, as well as locations in Queens, N.Y., Boston and Los Angeles.
