J.Crew Appoints New CEO

J.Crew (New York) has appointed Jan Singer as its new CEO. Singer was formerly the CEO of Victoria’s Secret (Columbus, Ohio).

Singer will hold “all aspects of the J.Crew and J.Crew Factory brands and businesses,” in her responsibility, according to Retail Dive.

While J.Crew sales fell during its most recent quarter, the brand’s sister company Madewell saw a sales rise of 13 percent in the last quarter.

The company has expressed plans to continue growing Madewell, while taking a step back on J.Crew, with plans to shutter 20 J.Crew locations and open 10 Madewell stores.
