Johnny Rockets Opens in Germany

Restaurant chain Johnny Rockets (Lake Forest, Calif.) will open its newest overseas location in the airport of U.S. Air Force Base, Ramstein, in Southern Germany, next week. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service says it chose Johnny Rockets for its definitively American food, sights and sounds. “The airport terminal is the main entry point for all U.S. military members flying back from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom,” says Michael Sitrin, AAFES – KMCC Food Court Manager. “So what better way to welcome them back than a grilled-to-order hamburger, American fries and a hand-dipped shake?”

The new Ramstein restaurant is the second Johnny Rockets to be located on a military base. The first was at Camp Pendleton, in Southern California, which opened earlier, this year.

Johnny Rockets plans to open more restaurants across the globe within the next few years. Last year, the company opened more than 40 franchised restaurants and plans to add 50 more by the end 2009.
