As part of the annual A.R.E. Retail Design Collective, VMSD will hosts a panel discussion on trends in department store retailing, on December 6. Once considered the dinosaur of retailing, the department store sector is proving it’s full of life as retailers, including Macy’s, Lotte, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and JCPenney, lighten up their store interiors, invest in services and amenities and find balance in their brand mixes. Join VMSD editor-in-chief Anne DiNardo and panelists Barbara Beeghly, vp, FRCH Design Worldwide (Cincinnati), Kathleen Jordan, principal, Gensler (New York office), Ignaz Gorischek, vp, store development, Neiman Marcus Properties Group (Dallas) and Ken Lay, design director, Macy’s Corporate Services, SPACE Design, as they discuss the latest department store strategies, tour store design trends from around the globe and share ideas and inspiration.
The session, “Master Class,” will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, at 7W New York. For more information, visit www.retaildesigncollective.com.
