Jones Group Acquires Footwear Brand

The Jones Group Inc. (New York) is adding the 11-year-old Brian Atwood footwear brand to its brand portfolio, which already includes Nine West and Rachel Roy.

As part of the deal, Jones will take a majority stake and Mr. Atwood will remain on as creative director and designer, with an ownership stake, reports Crain’s New York.

“Brian is a brilliant designer, and our acquisition of his brand marks another milestone in our ongoing mission of developing The Jones Group into the leading portfolio of global fashion brands,” Richard Dickson, ceo, branded businesses for Jones, said in a statement.
