Nike Jordan Store Planned for Chicago

Nike (Beaverton, Ore.) announced that it will be launching its first exclusively Jordan-branded store this year. The store will be located in Chicago at 32 S. State St.

According to CBS Sports, the store will offer a wider selection of Jordan products and will have an area above the store that can house Jordan-sponsored athletes or function as a promotional space.

The space will also highlight, not just the history of Michael Jordan’s career, but also the brand’s relationship with Chicago, as well. Not only did Jordan play for the Chicago Bulls but when the first Nike Air Jordan shoe was released, it debuted in Chicago stores in March 1985. Jordan has reportedly wanted to launch his flagship store in the city for nearly a decade. He plans for the store to collaborate with local charities to make an impact on the city.
