Judith Ripka on Madison Avenue

The Judith Ripka Cos. Inc., high-end designer jewelry maker, has opened a new flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York.

The 1200-square-foot space — a collaboration between founder Ripka, New York interior designer Tristan Harstan and New York architect James D’Auria — will debut the designer’s new boutique concept. Concierge courtesies will include transportation service and restaurant reservations at Upper East Side restaurants. The interior incorporates exclusive furniture designs from Nancy Corzine.

The store will also debut Judith Ripka’s new couture collection and the introduction of the Ripka custom design salon. The company says the new collection will “harmonizes the versatility and wearability of Judith Ripka’s original ‘blue jeans to black tie’ philosophy with the power of red-carpet fascination. Always maintaining a ‘classic with a modern twist’ sensibility, Ripka’s interpretation of bold colors and integration of rare diamonds and one-of-a-kind stones with her distinctive 18-karat matte gold translates into a provocative, richly glamorous new collection.”

The store’s interior has been created to feel like an atelier or salon. “The space is as comfortable as it is luxe,” said Ripka. “As you walk through the doors, you feel like you are escaping the city. What I value most about my business is my relationships with my clients, and the store’s environment is just one more way I can pamper and indulge them, whether they desire Dom Perignon or green tea, light classical music or a sports game on a plasma TV.”

Custom jewelry displays have been designed specifically for each hand-crafted 18-karat gold and diamond creation and hand-painted wallpaper on silk to the back of each chair and corner of each mirror incorporating textured design elements seen in Judith’s jewelry, every decorative feature communicates Judith’s enthusiasm for exquisite detail.

The concept, including one-on-one consultations with a couture design consultant, as well as with Ripka herself sketching designs for the client’s review, will be rolled out in Ripka’s nine other luxury store locations throughout the year.
