KDM Purchases New Komori Offset Printing Press

(Cincinnati, OH, July 2017) – KDM P.O.P Solutions Group is pleased to announce the purchase of a new Komori Lithrone GL-640C Offset Printing Press to its already substantial print production operations.  This investment will assure maximum productivity to meet today’s speed-to-market demands as well as offer a wider variety of products for the retail vertical while maintaining offset print quality characteristics.

The GL-640 is a 6-color UV press. It assures utmost productivity and efficiency by delivering stable, high-speed operation and a fully automated plate changing process that reduces make-ready time. Other automated print density and color control features will aid in achieving accurate color faster with less waste.

The 40” press handles sheet sizes up to 28”x40” on a wide range of sheet thicknesses from ultrathin paper and polyethylene to thicker cardstock and plastics (such as polystyrene) up to .040” thick. This means KDM can offer a wider variety of products for retail applications.

The new Komori press is scheduled to be fully operational at KDM’s headquarters and main print production facility in Cincinnati by mid-September 2017. The installation requires some light remodeling to accommodate the press.

“We fully expect to improve our turn times on our customer’s needs for mid-sized to large print production runs due to the faster color matching abilities and reduction in make-ready potential that this new press offers”, said Bob Kissel, President/CEO.
