Kmart Announces Two Executive Appointments

Kmart Corp. (Troy, Mich.) has announced the appointment of Enio (Tony) A. Montini, Jr., as vp and gmm of the retailer's drug store business. Montini will report directly to Cecil Kearse, executive vp, merchandising, and will be responsible for pharmacy merchandising, health and beauty care, fragrances and cosmetics and over-the-counter drugs. He replaces Ron Chomiuk who was recently promoted to vp, pharmacy operations. Montini had most recently served as vp of sales for Leiner Health Products in Cleveland. He also has held senior management merchandising posts with Revco, F & M Distributors, Reliable Drug Stores and Rite Aid, as well as senior inventory management positions with Gray Drug Fair and Thrifty Drug Co.

Kmart also announced the selection of James E. Boyd, Jr., as operations vp of its Restaurant Operations, effective September 15., 2000. Boyd was previously coo of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits. He will report directly to Mark Schwartz, Kmart executive vp, Store Operations, and will be responsible for restaurant operations including sales, supplier relationships, marketing and training.
