Kohl’s Corp. (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and apparel company VF Corp. (Greensboro, N.C.) signed a deal for the department store to exclusively sell denim label Rock & Republic at 1,097 stores beginning in spring 2012. The brand will launch with men’s and women’s denim, related sportswear and footwear and may expand into children’s, accessories and home, according to Women's Wear Daily.
At VF, Rock & Republic is the first brand under its Retail Licensed Brands Group. Kohl’s will manage the distribution and marketing of all the Rock & Republic branded merchandise.
Rock & Republic will join a growing list of exclusive brands at Kohl’s, which in 2010 accounted for 48 percent of the retailer’s $18.4 billion in sales. Those brands include Simply Vera Vera Wang, LC Lauren Conrad, Elle Contemporary Collection, Daisy Fuentes and apt. 9.
This fall, the company plans to debut its Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony women’s and men’s collections in partnership with LF USA.
