Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) has hired retail veteran Fred Hand as SEVP, Director of Stores. Hand will oversee Kohl’s 1100-plus department stores, store operations and experience, loss prevention and store experience and design functions.
“Fred has a deep appreciation and passion for the power that brick-and-mortar retail plays in an omnichannel business model,” said President and COO Dave Alves. “He is committed to serving customers by empowering stores and associates and we are excited to welcome him to the Kohl’s team.”
Said Hand, “During my years in the retail industry, I’ve deeply admired Kohl’s and am so excited to now be a part of this well-loved brand. I look forward to working with the senior leadership team and all of the associates across the country as we continue to serve millions of customers in our stores and execute our long-term strategy.”
Hand has more than 30 years of experience leading store operations at national retailers. Most recently, he was CEO of Tuesday Morning, which went out of business earlier this year. Prior to that, he was Chief COO at Burlington, where he led the stores organization for more than 13 years. Before that, Hand held senior positions in stores and visual merchandising at May Department Stores (then Macy’s) and Filene’s.
