Lights of Vegas

If my inbox is any indication, this week’s Lightfair trade show in Las Vegas is going to be a robust and information-filled event.

In the weeks leading up to the show, I received daily announcements about new product launches at this year’s show. Company representatives kept my phone ringing with requests for booth appointments. So as I land in Vegas this week, I’ve got a packed schedule that will keep me navigating the show floor and running from booth to booth to check out these latest developments in retail lighting.

Among the promised innovations on display in this year’s booths are new luminaire designs for architectural spaces and improved lighting control systems for better harvesting of energy savings. And of course, LEDs continue to be a hot topic as ongoing improvements are made to this lighting technology. Several of this year’s exhibitors will be talking about LED’s improved CRI, new lamp offerings and replacement products for incandescents.

I’ll be hitting the show floor to track down these innovative new products, designs and technologies, so look for my report in an upcoming issue of VMSD.
