Limited Results

Limited Brands Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) has reported flat comparable-store sales for the five weeks ended July 2, 2005. Net sales were up 2.8 percent.

For the 22 weeks ended July 2, comparable-store sales decreased 3 percent and net sales were up just 1.5 percent.

By division, Victoria’s Secret’s comp-store sales were flat in June and year-to-date; Bath & Body Works was up 15 percent in June and up 8 percent year-to-date; Express was down 15 percent in June and 18 percent year-to-date; and Limited Stores was down 10 percent in June and down 5 percent year-to-date.

Since January, Limited Brands has a net of 98 fewer stores, having opened seven new locations and closing 105.
