L.L. Bean (Freeport, Maine) plans to open its first store west of Chicago, in Minnesota’s Mall of America.

The store will showcase an array of cold-weather clothing as well as gear for camping, fishing, snowshoeing and kayaking, occupying most of the first floor of the old Bloomingdale's space, which has been vacant since 2012, according to TwinCities.com.
