Louis Vuitton Adds Singapore Store

Louis Vuitton (Paris) is preparing to open its first Maison flagship store in Southeast Asia, a nautically themed glass and steel pavilion on the waterfront of Singapore's Marina Bay, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

The flagship is the work of architect Moshe Safdie, as part of his overall design of the Marina Bay Sands resort, with the interior crafted by architect Peter Marino. Conceptualized as the “Louis Vuitton Island,” the interior includes sailboat timber and stone used for harbors, ship masts suspended in the air and an outdoor patio area resembling the deck of a luxury yacht. The Singapore space also includes a bookstore and an exhibition space.

“Singapore's rich cultural history and artistic heritage, alongside its vibrant and exciting development makes it a natural home for a Louis Vuitton,” ceo Yves Carcelle told WWD.
