Louis Vuitton Names Nicolas Ghesquiere

The French fashion house Louis Vuitton has named Nicolas Ghesquiere as its new artistic director.

Ghesquiere, who left the house of Balenciaga in 2012 after 15 years, replaces Marc Jacobs, who had announced in September that he was leaving to concentrate on his own branded company.

Ghesquiere is being sued by Balenciaga for the breach of a confidentiality clause in his contract, for allegedly making negative comments about his former employer.
