Lowe's New Jersey Plans

Lowe's Cos. Inc. (Wilkesboro, N.C.) has announced plans to add five new stores in northern New Jersey.

Subject to receiving appropriate state permits and approvals, Lowe's will begin construction on stores in Hackettstown, Rockaway, Union, East Brunswick and Jersey City.

“Lowe's is clearly committed to serving the home improvement needs of New Jerseyans,” said Nick Canter, senior vp of Lowe's northern division. “These additions, combined with seven previously announced stores in the past year, will bring us to a total of 12 stores in progress.”

Lowe's currently has 14 open stores in New Jersey. In September, the world's second-largest home-improvement chain — and the 14th-largest retail organization in the nation — announced plans to add more than 60 stores in the greater New York City area.
