Lululemon Finds New Product Officer

Lululemon Athletica Inc. (Vancouver, B.C.) has hired former Kmart executive Tara Poseley as its chief product officer, ending a six-month search.

Poseley was president of Kmart Apparel, a multi-channel business with several billion dollars in revenue.

At Lululemon, she will oversee the global merchandising and design strategy, working with leaders Deanne Schweitzer and Felix Del Toro, the heads of the women's and men’s design teams, and reporting to Lululemon ceo Christine Day.

Poseley replaces Sheree Waterson, who left the company earlier this year, following the highly publicized issue of yoga pants that were found to be partially see-through. The merchandise was pulled from store shelves in March.

The company is still searching for a replacement for Day, who plans to depart after that replacement is found.
