Lululemon Opens Largest Flagship

Lululemon Athletica Inc. (Vancouver, B.C.) opened its largest store location yesterday in New York’s Flatiron District.

The 11,500-square-foot flagship not only acts as a retail space but also caters to customers as a sort of community center. For instance, it includes a 3000-square-foot space on its lower level called “Hub Seventeen” that acts as an area for fitness workshops and events.

It will also regularly host a monthly dinner series called “The Gathering,” which will feature local chefs and restaurants, and monthly film screenings. There will also be regular pop-up galleries featured in-store for local artists and “Super Sunday” performances spotlighting up-and-coming musicians, reports New York Business Journal.

The store also includes a concierge service and a digital community board, which can help customers find such things as running routes, exercises classes or favorite restaurants, reports The Wall Street Journal.
