Macy’s Opens Discount Pop-Ups

Macy’s (Cincinnati) announced it will be bringing its year-old, off-price brand Backstage to about 45 of its regular department stores by testing pop-up, shop-in-shops. The pop-ups will be located in select stores alongside its clearance section, reports Retail Dive.

This comes as the retailer announced it will start closing some of the stores it has slated to shutter this year, reports Cincinnati Business Journal. In August, the company announced it would close about 100 of its stores. Many of those stores are now expected to be closed by the New Year, although any with leases will see likely stay open until the leases expire.
