Macy’s Stores to Introduce Internet Radio Content

Clear Channel Broadcasting Inc. (San Antonio, Texas), in partnership with Macy’s Inc. (Cincinnati), is launching mstyleradio, a youthful mix of talk, music and fashion tips that will be broadcast live in more than 700 Mstylelab juniors’ and young men's departments at Macy's stores around the country.

The programming will also be available on iHeartRadio.com, the Internet radio platform launched by Clear Channel in 2008, and the iHeartRadio mobile app.

Macy's and Clear Channel plan to advertise the station with digital, social and print messages throughout the year.

The new channel features live music played by a roster of Clear Channel DJs. Between music, the programming will provide talk content on fashion, sports, pop culture and gossip.

Macy’s will use the two-minutes-per-hour advertising limitation to promote nationwide sales and specials, as well as experiential marketing and contests targeted to millennials. The retailer will also promote certain Clear Channel events, like music festivals, hosted by stations around the country.

The collaboration is an extension of a partnership between Macy's and iHeartRadio that began this summer, tied into the iHeartRadio Music Festival. The retailer hosted performances by 20 bands at Macy's stores, then invited fans to vote.
