Located at terminal 3 in the West Food Sky Island, 5 Star Plus worked to create a new store design for Majia Shumai. Majia Shumai is a Halal brand that focuses on Western Chinese cuisine including steamed dumplings and noodles. 5 Star Plus wanted to emulate Majia Shumai’s authentic Halal culture by creating a store identity that would complement their unique origin and style.
The visual identity of Majia Shumai is both fresh and wholesome. 5 Star Plus was able to capture their organic roots by using natural materials like wood for the seating and tables. Yet 5 Star Plus used a bright color scheme of green, blue, and gold to add a rejuvenating feel to the store identity. Deciding to use green lighting was strategic brand design due to green being a popular color amongst Halal culture. This helps reiterate the store design’s unique cultural origins while simultaneously making the visual atmosphere bright and refreshing. Furthermore, the flooring in Majia Shumai had a more intricate design to add a unique, chic dimension to the store identity. 5 Star Plus created a store design that was fresh and new while being able to capture the organic Halal roots of Majia Shumai.
Overall, 5 Star Plus captured Majia Shumai’s brand image and created a store design that emulates their organic culture. By balancing natural materials with intricate flooring and bright colors, 5 Star Plus was able to create a store design that embodied the wholesome Halal culture simultaneously while making the concept store refreshing and chic.
