Lincoln Square, a mixed-use development in Bellevue, Wash., will open for business today after years of delays, change of ownership and times of uncertainty.
The 1.4 million-square-foot project will ultimately include an office tower that will contain the new Eddie Bauer headquarters. That is scheduled to start construction in early 2006. It also includes 310,000 square feet of retail, 148 residential condominiums, a 16-screen cinema and the 337-room Westin Bellevue.
Lincoln Square currently includes a 27,600-square-foot Container Store, a 13,500-square-foot Thomasville Home Furnishings of Bellevue store, Tully’s Coffee and a group of restaurants in the hotel — Maggiano’s Little Italy, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant and Manzana Rotisserie Grill. The Paper Source, Lincoln Square Cinemas and The Parlor Billiards and Spirits, the region’s first upscale billiard’s club, are all scheduled to before the end of the year. Trader Vic’s is due to open early 2006. Additional leases are underway for Lincoln Square and will be announced as completed in the coming weeks.
Kemper Development Co. (Bellevue), the developer and manager of the property, acquired Lincoln Square in August 2003 from Lend Lease Real Estate Investments when all that existed was the parking garage and part of the office tower and hotel. Kemper began construction in January 2004.
