McDonalds to Open 200 Restaurants in Italy by 2025

QSR giant McDonalds (Chicago) plans to open 200 restaurants and hire 12,000 people in Italy by 2025, reports Reuters.

“Italy is seen by the group as one of the markets with the greatest potential on a global scale,” Dario Baroni, CEO, McDonald’s Italia, told La Repubblica.

The move would bring the number of locations in Italy to 800 and its workforce to 40,000. Baroni reports the group expects to end 2021 with sales above 2019 numbers. The group saw a decrease in revenue in 2020 that’s attributed to the coronavirus pandemic.
