Meet the 2022 Designer Dozen: Jacqueline Stubbs

Jacqueline Stubbs
Age: 31 | Visual Merchandising Manager, Purple

WHY JACQUELINE?

Having recently led the installation of 18 new Purple showrooms across the U.S., Jacqueline is responsible for driving the visual and design strategies for current and new showrooms; sourcing decor and design elements; and directing the merchandising plans for products. Her coworkers describe her as someone who’s able to lead, direct and motivate others, she sees beyond the obvious and is an exceptional storyteller. Outside of work, Jacqueline started a campaign to raise social awareness related to a crime committed against her lifelong friend which resulted in his untimely death. A passion project close to her heart, you can learn more by visiting @JusticeforChristianGriggs on Instagram.

How do you envision the physical store of the future?

I see physical stores as an escape. We’ve entered a period where virtual is reality and physically being somewhere has become a novelty. Physical stores must look and feel special to compete with virtual convenience.

What’s shaped you as a designer?

In a world where you can order an item at 9 a.m. and have it delivered by 12 p.m., I try very hard to create spaces where people feel comfortable and inspired. If they’ve taken the time to drive to a location, paid to park, and then hustle around a shopping center, they deserve a world-class experience once they arrive.

The best part of my day is…

…Having dinner with my partner.
