Meijer Adding Three Supercenters

Meijer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) has unveiled plans to open two new 159,000-square-foot supercenters in Ohio and one in its home state of Michigan. The stores, all set to open May 14, are in Alliance and North Canton in northeast Ohio, as well in Hillsdale, in south-central Michigan. Those new outlets mark the hypermarket chain’s 127th in Michigan and 55th in in Ohio.

The supercenters will feature grocery staples, fresh produce, bakery, meat, and deli, as well as a floral area, garden center and home goods. The stores will also include a pharmacy, health and beauty care, a pet department, electronics, toys, sports and apparel. (A Meijer Express gas station will open April 18 adjacent to the North Canton location.)

Meijer is a privately owned, family-operated retailer with more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets and express locations throughout the Midwest.
