Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (Kowloon, China) is suing Costco Wholesale Corp. (Issaquah, Wash.) for what it charges is falsely adveritising that it carries Kors handbags.

The suit alleges that the warehouse club retailer sent an email blast in April advertising a selection of designer handbags priced at about $100. Alongside the text was a photo of a bag with the Kors monogram and the MK trademark. Photos of other bags bearing “MK” were also featured in the ad.

Kors said its representatives visited several Costco locations and found no evidence that Costco carried its bags.
