Morrisons Aims to Boost Business

Morrisons (Bradford, U.K.) announced various plans to improve the company’s finances.

For instance, it will be closing 11 of its Morrisons supermarket stores that are not financially viable. The locations slated to close have not yet been revealed, though they are expected to mostly be in the company’s smaller supermarkets. As a result of the closures, potentially 900 employees could lose jobs.

It also plans to sell all of its M local convenience stores, which total 140 stores. The stores will be rebranded as My Local and the staff will continue to be employed under the deal, reports BBC
