Mr. and Ms. President

Urban Outfitters (Philadelphia) has announced that Ted Marlow, one-time president of The Limited's Henri Bendel division, will become president of its Retail Division. Marlow, a veteran of more than 25 years in retailing, most recently served as executive vp of Chico's FAS and, before that, of Saks Fifth Avenue. His previous stops also included Neiman Marcus, Marshall Field's and The Limited, where he also served as executive vp of the Structure division.

Urban Outfitters, Inc. operates 46 Urban Retail stores in the United States, Canada and Europe (including a new store which opened in Cincinnati during the second quarter); 28 Anthropologie stores in the U.S. (including a new store which opened in Houston during the second quarter); and a wholesale subsidiary that sells to the company's retail operations as well as to approximately 1300 specialty stores and department stores.

And Trudy Sullivan, formerly president of the J. Crew Group, Inc., has joined Liz Claiborne Inc. (New York) as group president with oversight responsibilities for Liz Claiborne Casual, Liz Claiborne Collection and Elisabeth. She will report directly to chairman and ceo Paul Charron.

Sullivan's previous positions were at The Avenue, Decelle, T. Deane and Filene's.

Liz Claiborne Inc. designs and markets women's and men's apparel and fragrances. The company's brands include Claiborne, Crazy Horse, Curve, Dana Buchman, Elisabeth, Emma James, First Issue, Laundry by Shelli Segal, Liz Claiborne, Lucky Brand, Mambo, Meg Allen, Mexx, Monet, Russ, Sigrid Olsen and Villager. In addition, Liz Claiborne Inc. holds the exclusive, long-term license to produce and sell men's and women's collections of DKNY Jeans and DKNY Active, as well as CITY DKNY better women's sportswear. The company also has the exclusive license to produce women's wear under the Kenneth Cole New York, Unlisted.com and Reaction Kenneth Cole brand names. It operates a variety of in-store vendor shops under several of these brand names.
