Muji’s US arm Files for Bankruptcy

Muji’s U.S. subsidiary filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, Reuters reports. The company plans to renegotiate its rent for its stores in the U.S. All 18 locations have been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Retail Dive, the company has entered bankruptcy with more than $50 million in liabilities and more than 200 creditors.
