Neocon Honors Best New Products

Origin, an office workstation by Nucraft Furniture Co. (Grand Rapids, Mich.), won Best of Competition at the Neocon trade fair in Chicago. The annual show, featuring commercial interior design products for retail, office, health care, hospitality, residential, institutional and governmental use, was held June 10-12 at the Merchandise Mart.

Among other award winners, Wilsonart (Temple, Texas) won the gold in the flooring category for its Trac-Loc, a laminate flooring system comprised of planks or tiles installed on aluminum tracks. Amtico International (Atlanta) won the silver prize in the category for Century, a colorful floor tile collection.

Dressed 2 Kill by Shaw Tile (Dalton, Ga.) won the gold and Equilibrium by Interface Flooring Systems (Grand Rapids, Mich.) won the silver in the modular carpet category.

Zooni by JM Lynne (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Tesserae by Blumenthal Alternative Wallcoverings (Canaan, Conn.) won first and second prize respectively in the wall treatments category. Both companies are part of Steelcase (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

A full-height movable wall system from KI Cos. (Green Bay, Wis.) won in the architectural products and finishes category. Arrigado, a new line of textured, corrugated cast glass surfaces by Joel Berman Glass Studios (Vancouver, B.C.) was second.

In all, 53 prizes were awarded in 40 separate categories.
