New Home Depot for Chicago

The Home Depot (Atlanta) is said to be seeking approval to build a store on a vacant 10.4-acre parcel on Chicago's North Side. According to Crain's Chicago Business, the land — at the corner of Kimball Avenue and Addison Street, about two miles west of Wrigley Field — had been intended for manufacturing.

Crain's said the Chicago Department of Planning and Development “appears inclined to grant” the request. A department spokesman told Crain's the plan is “not 100 percent signed off on yet” but acknowledges that “we think it's a good use for the site.”
