New President of Saks

Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.) has announced the hiring of Andrew Jennings as president and chief merchandising officer of its New York-based Saks Fifth Avenue subsidiary.

Fred Wilson, named in November 2003 as president and ceo of Saks Fifth Avenue, will become chairman and ceo. Jennings will report to Wilson.

Jennings is former president of Holt Renfrew Specialty Store Group (Toronto). He has also been deputy chairman of the Brown Thomas Specialty Store Group in Ireland; managing director of the House of Fraser Department Store Group (London); general manager and board member of Harrods (London) and with various premium specialty and department stores in South Africa.

In this newly created position, Jennings will be responsible for merchandising, marketing, store operations and inventory planning for Saks Fifth Avenue.
