New York to Welcome Athleta Store

Gap Inc.’s (San Francisco) Athleta brand will open its second store, heading to New York's Upper West Side neighborhood. The sportswear brand, which sells a range of merchandise from yoga pants to swimsuits, has signed on for nearly 3500 square feet at 216 Columbus Ave., at West 70th Street, reports Crain’s New York.

The store is expected to open this fall.

Gap acquired the Athleta brand in 2008, and opened a 5000-square-foot San Francisco flagship in January.
