Nordstrom Bolsters Topshop Presence

Topshop (London) has extended its partnership with Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) to open an additional 28 branded departments.

The agreement will increase, to 42, the number of Nordstrom stores in which Topshop has a strong brand presence. And the Topman brand will start selling in eight more Nordstrom outlets, giving it a presence in 18 stores.

Nordstrom started selling Topshop and Topman clothes in September 2012, the only large U.S. retailer to sell a broad Topshop assortment.

Nordstrom also plans a “completely refreshed design” for all its new and existing Topshop and Topman departments, according to Bloomberg News.

“Through this collaboration, we hoped to attract new customers to both our women’s and men’s apparel businesses and to learn to create newness and excitement in our stores and online,” said Peter Nordstrom, president of merchandising at Nordstrom. “We have been able to measurably improve on these fronts.”
