Nordstrom to Expand Rack

Nordstrom (Seattle) announced plans to expand its off-price Nordstrom Rack chain, which experienced an 18.9 percent same-store sales increase in the past quarter (ending July 28), Women’s Wear Daily reports. By 2016, it will double the number of stores in the chain, with 24 new locations planned for 2013.

The company also reported an 11 percent drop in its second-quarter net earnings; same-store sales rose 4.5 percent compared to the same quarter last year, according to WWD.
