Nordstrom Offers Topman Apparel … and More Industry News

MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Triad Manufacturing (St. Louis) has announced that Rick Happel, formerly vp of finance for Panera Bread, will become its cfo after spending three months as a financial consultant for the company. Triad manufactures retail fixturing and store environment packages, as well as provides project management, design and planning services.

SuperValu Inc. (Minneapolis) named Bill Parker interim president of Farm Fresh Food & Pharmacy, a 43-store division in the Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Va. areas. Parker has been with the company for 14 years.

Landor Associates (Cincinnati) has appointed Mike Stromberg managing director of its Cincinnati and Chicago offices. The company provides brand strategy and design services, with 23 offices in 17 countries.

In-store marketing company Pointsmith (Houston) has named Daniel Tanton its production administration manager. The company primarily serves QSRs, convenience stores and other retailers.

FRCH Design Worldwide (Cincinnati) has added Sara Ahrns, graphic designer, to its specialty retail studio. Nicole Roberts has also joined the company and will serve as a senior graphic designer specializing in environmental graphics and retail brand identity.

STORE OPENINGS
Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) began offering menswear from Topman (London) at its Barton Creek Square Mall, and plans to offer the brand in 14 stores across the U.S. The store will offer limited-edition apparel from Topshop and Topman as well.

The family-operated Murray’s Restaurant in Minneapolis has been renovated for the first time since 1984 and has reopened with a new layout that includes bar and lounge areas.

Hera Lighting (Norcross, Ga.) is expanding its corporate office and distribution facilities from 15,000 to 36,000 square feet.

St. Louis-based idX Corp. has opened a Mexico City office and hired Jimena Sotres as an account executive. The company plans to further expand its staff in Mexico City in the coming months.

KDM P.O.P Solutions Group (Cincinnati) has earned the G7 Master Printer Qualification from IDEAlliance, which recognizes printers skilled in press and proof calibration using GRACoL specifications for color matching.

P-o-p fixture and display manufacturer Southern Imperial Inc. (Rockford, Ill.) has acquired Sunbelt Plastic Extrusions Inc., a manufacturer of signs, extruded price rails, display panels, aisle directories and more.
