Heading into 2023, the growth plans at Nordstrom (Seattle) are focused solely on its Nordstrom Rack off-price division. The retailer plans to open six new Racks in the coming year, bringing the total to about 260 in the U.S. and Canada, but its department store stable is currently projected to remain unchanged, at 100 in the two countries.
Nordstrom says the Rack unit “plays a critical role in the company’s ‘Closer to You’ strategy, which focuses on delivering customers a more convenient and interconnected experience across its stores and digital platforms. Nordstrom Rack offers customers up to 70 percent off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty, home and shoes from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores as well as core services like online order pickup for Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, easy returns and alterations at select stores.”
Perhaps most importantly, the retailer notes that Nordstrom Rack is the largest source of new customers for the brand.
Here are the planned Rack openings for 2023:
- Los Angeles: NOHO West – spring 2023
- Wichita, Kan.: Bradley Fair – spring 2023
