Off and On

Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.) will roll out a new prototype for its 58-unit Off 5th discount chain this year. According to GlobeSt.com, the commercial real estate news and property web site, the first store is set to open in Orlando next month, with three to four more to follow this year.

The retailer, which operates Saks Fifth Avenue and the Off 5th and Club Libby Liu chains, is planning to spend $125 million in capital expenditures. It will also renovate existing Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Bal Harbor, Miami and Naples, Fla.; Boston; Houston and Los Angeles this year.
