Over the Jagged Edge

Jagged Edge Mountain Gear (Moab, Utah), designer, manufacturer and retailer of technical outerwear and rugged sportswear, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Friday. The company said its decision was made after a depressed winter of catalog sales, following the events of September 11, the anthrax scare and a slow economy prior to Christmas.

The three-store chain of stores selling technical outerwear and clothing for skiing, climbing, mountaineering, hiking and adventure travel sports, says it is currently developing a new company business model that includes more financial and operational resources to grow the company's wholesale, retail and website division.
