MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Bergmeyer Associates Inc., a Boston-based architecture and interior design firm, appointed Rachel Zsembery to its board of directors. Zsembery, a senior associate at Bergmeyer and member of VMSD’s Editorial Advisory Board, leads a retail design team that develops and implements national prototypes. She also oversees sustainable design in retail and commercial projects.

Lane Crawford (Hong Kong) announced two new management positions. Andrea O’Donnell will join the company as executive director in September, and Sebastian Picardo begins work as the company’s executive vp of business development and online activities.

MaxLite (West Caldwell, N.J.) has named Boyd Corbett vp of sales, central region. Corbett will manage sales in the Midwest in his new role.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
Storage and organizational component manufacturer Vanguard Plastics Corp. (Southington, Conn.) has named Outwater Plastics Industries Inc. (Bogota, N.J.) as its U.S. distributor.

Chilewich (New York) provided flooring and tabletop surfacing for the Oakley Safehouse, a place for Olympic athletes to relax during the summer games. The space is located at London’s Design Museum and includes a restaurant, coffee bar and lounge.

Mannequin distributor ALU (New York) is now the exclusive distributor of ABC Manichini (Brugherio, Italy) products in the Americas.

Hinojosa Architecture & Interiors (Dallas) won the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Excellence Award for the design of the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center (Dallas) in the institutional/education category. The award was given by IIDA’s Texas and Oklahoma chapters.

Ilford Biomedia (Marly, Switzerland) has named two new, European distributors for its BioMedia substrate line: R. Rauch GmbH (Spaichingen, Germany) and Kalle ReproMedia Handels GmbH (Brunn am Gebirge, Austria).

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE, Hollywood, Fla.) has announced its 18th annual Student Design Competition, which is open to college students studying retail planning, merchandising and branding. The competition is sponsored by B+N Industries (Burlingame, Calif.), and the deadline for entries is November 1.
