The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) has announced a design seminar program in conjunction with its annual gala and with VM+SD's StoreXpo, the winter market in December in New York.
PAVE will hold two seminars on Dec. 4, 2003, in the Haft Auditorium of the Fashion Institute of Technology on Seventh Avenue and 27th Street. At 9 a.m., six PAVE board members will discuss “Career and Our Roles,” how they got into the field of retail design and merchandising, their educational backgrounds and career paths. The six are: Christine Belich of Sony USA, Judy Bell of Target Corp., Rick Burbee of Sears, Roebuck, Ignaz Gorischek of Neiman Marcus, Tony Mancini of Walt Disney Imagineering and Suzanne Spooner of Nautical Retail USA.
At 11 a.m., four PAVE board members will lead the discussion, “What Do the Industry Employers Look For in Hiring New Talent?” The four are: Elle Chute of Chute Gerdeman, Dominick Segrete of TSR Consultants Inc., Richard Stolls of Trim Corp. of America and David Terveen of DK Display.
