Petco Acquires Complete Petmart

Specialty pet retailer Petco Animal Supplies Inc. (San Diego) bought Complete Petmart Inc. (Dayton, Ohio), acquiring all of its 29 locations. The purchase brings Petco’s footprint to 41 stores in Ohio and more than 1100 locations across the U.S., according to a Petco press release.

Petco says it plans to make changes to the former Complete Petmart store layouts over the next few weeks.

“Complete Petmart has been a popular destination for pet parents in this region for more than 25 years, and we’re proud to continue their tradition of providing high-quality products and superior customer service,” says Petco ceo Jim Myers, in a Petco press release.

Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
