Play N Trade (Newport Beach, Calif.) will open a new store at the end of the month in the Chicago suburb of Hodgkins, Ill., featuring a new store design.

Play N Trade, which sells and trades the latest releases, hard-to-find retro consoles and games, and local and national video game competitions, uses interactive video game stations to let customers try any game before buying.

The new store environment, designed by EWI Worldwide (Detroit) will be more engaging and interactive with an exclusive Player's Club area. “The new layout changes the game for what consumers will expect from gaming retailers,” said Tony Gillette, senior vp, retail operations at Play N Trade. “The Hodgkins store is a bold new design.”

Play N Trade operates more than 250 stores with plans to open more than 100 this year.
