Polo Pony on Newbury Street

A new Ralph Lauren flagship store is about to go up on Boston's Newbury Street. Shawmut Design & Construction (Boston) has begun work on the 15,000-sq.-ft., three-story space in the landmark Kakas Furs Building. Completion is expected in mid-November.

The 76-year-old building was the first commercial space on the street. Because it is landmarked, most of the existing storefront will remain untouched.
