Pyrus Plans First Retail Locale

Pyrus, a London-based independent fashion brand created by the husband-and-wife design team of Lorraine and Ashwin Johnson, will open its first retail store later this month, FashionUnited News reports. The brand will open in an 880 sq.-ft unit space on London’s Newburgh Street.

The two-level store will feature a boutique on its ground floor, while its basement will serve as a gallery for contemporary art. The store’s interior will combine weather-beaten surfaces and earthy textures alongside metal pipe work rails, exposed light bulbs with ceramic holder, reclaimed theatre barn-door lights as well as pieces selected by the designers, including vintage mirrors and old wooden chairs.

Pyrus merchandise is currently available in such department stores as Fenwick in London and Opaque in Japan, as well as in such specialty retailers as Anthropologie, Question Air and Anna.
